CMI Animation Students Head to Siggraph

SIGGRAPH is the world’s largest, most influential annual event in computer graphics and interactive techniques. This year, 14 of CMI’s Animation and Visual Effects Students traveled to Anaheim California to attend.  Student’s were able to experience five days of research results, demos, educational sessions, art,  screenings, and hands-on-interactivity  featuring the community’s latest technical achievements, and three days of commercial exhibits displaying the industry’s current hardware, software, and services. Each volunteer worked a minimum of 25 hours performing various conference services.  Several students earned opportunities to interview with companies like Blizzard and ILM, as well as apply for a wide variety of jobs.  Off the clock, students were able to attend presentations and talks by leaders in the industry as well as participate in “experience hall” an exhibition of interactive technology in the form of an Art gallery. The entire conference has about 300 student volunteers and 18 team leaders with over 14,000 attendees.
