Biography

Amy Lanasa is a writer, director and actor originally from Texas. She received her MFA in Film & Professional Writing from the Film School at Florida State University where she also earned an MA in Theatre Studies with an emphasis in Playwriting. Amy has received both the Patricia Christmore and Donald C. Roush Teaching Awards for excellence in teaching at New Mexico State University, where she has taught since 2006. She is currently a Professor and serves as department head of the Creative Media Institute at NMSU. Amy is also a Creative Writing Professor
