Brandon Gass, a filmmaker from Las Cruces and an NMSU alumnus, recently won 1st place in the El Paso Local Flavors film festival. His film Stillborn won the grand prize of $1,000.
The short tells the story of a girl whose mother recently died after having a stillbirth and whose grandmother becomes obsessed with their bathtub.
Stillborn was produced independently along CMI graduates Luis Gutierrez, Alex Antholzner, Naomi Gonzales, and Alana Murphy.
The short film was shot entirely using natural light in Las Cruces, NM and Tornillo, TX locations.
Brandon Gass’s work has been featured in local and international festivals before.
