Nathaniel Shrage

Nathaniel (Nate) Shrage grew up in Claremont, California. In high school, he started taking video production classes, which got him interested in filmmaking. During his senior year of high school, Nate made a documentary called Nathaniel (Nate) Shrage grew up in Claremont, California. During his senior year of high school, Nate made a documentary called Don’t Squeeze the Rolls about his grandmother and her upbringing in a Jewish neighborhood in Brooklyn.

After high school, he went to New York University to study Film & Television. In the middle of college, Nate switched his focus from live-action filmmaking to animation. He made two animated short films as an undergraduate: The Girl & the Ghoul and Out of Order.

After college, Nate did freelance animation and motion graphics work for a variety of clients and companies. He then attended the University of Central Florida and received his Master of Fine Arts degree in Animation and Visual Effects.

Nate's graduate thesis film, The Miss-Adventures of Molly & Sage, is an Official Selection for the Twin Cities Jewish Film Festival, the Tirana International Film Festival, "TOO DRUNK TO WATCH" Punkfilmfest Berlin, and the Orlando Film Festival. The film is a testament to his favorite animated shows as well as his fascination with world mythology, folklore, and fantasy. He is also a New York Mets fan, and he enjoys playing Dungeons & Dragons.
